1. Purpose of Collection and Use of Personal or Private Information

The company collects the minimum information required for the provision of services such as email notices and answers to inquiries. While the personal and private information of every user cannot be used for purposes other than those described above, the members will be advised and their consents will be sought. (3) The company will immediately destroy the information once the purpose of collection and use of personal or private information is satisfied. However, the company shall keep members’ information if related laws and regulations require the designated period of time.

3. Periods for Keeping and Use of Personal or Private Information

The company will immediately destroy the information once the purpose of collection and use of personal or private information is satisfied (However, the company shall keep members’ information if related laws and regulations require for the designated period of time.
ο Information to be kept: name, login ID and PW, mobile telephone number, email address, employer’s name, company telephone number, and records of settlement

ο Period of keeping: 5 years
- Records on contracts and cancellation of subscriptions: 5 years (the Act on Consumer Protection in Electronic Transactions, etc.)
- Records of settlement and supply of goods, etc.: 5 years (the Act on Consumer Protection in Electronic Transactions, etc.)
- Records pertaining to the collection, handling, and use of credit information: 3 years (the Use and Protection of Credit Information Act)

4. Procedure and Method for Destruction of Personal or Private Information

The company will immediately destroy the information once the purpose of collection and use of personal or private information is satisfied. The procedure and method for destruction is as follows.
ο Destruction procedure: information provided by a member for membership attainment will be delivered to separate database after the purpose is satisfied (paper will be stored in separate boxes). It will be stored for a certain period of time according to the reasons for protection of information based on the internal policies and related laws (check the periods for keeping and use) before destruction. : Any personal or private information delivered to separate database will not be used for purposes other than those prescribed in laws.

ο Method of destruction: any personal or private information saved as electronic files will be deleted through technological methods that do not result in any further reproduction of records. Any personal or private information printed on paper will be destroyed through a shredder or incineration.

5. Provision of Personal or Private Informations

The company will not provide user’s personal or private information to any external sources. However, there are exceptions as follows.
- In the event that a user consents in advance
- In the event of requirements in laws or inquiries from investigation institutions based on the procedure and method provided in laws for the purpose of investigation

6. Commissioning of the Collected Personal or Private Information

The company shall not commission a customer’s information to external institutions without the customer’s consent. However, if it becomes necessary, the company shall notify the commissioned institution and related affairs to the customer to secure his/her advance consent.

7. Rights of Users and Legal Representatives and Methods of Execution of Such Rights

Users, legal representatives, or children under 14 may always peruse or revise their personal or private information or ask for cancellation of the subscription at any time they want. If a customer asks for revision of an error in the personal or private information, such information will not be used or provided until the revision is completed. Also in the event that such erroneous personal or private information has been provided to a third party, the result from revision will be immediately notified to the third party so that the relevant revision can take place.
SMARTACE handles personal or private information that was canceled or deleted at the request of a user or his/her legal representative according to the “Period of Keeping and Use of Personal or Private Information Collected by SMARTACE” and disallows any perusal or use for purposes other than the prescribed ones.
